"We encourage them to be brave and strong and get out of the situation if they're in a similar one to what I was in before.

Ana and Fia, 18, have been singing together for almost a year and say music is a form of therapy.

They said they were encouraged to audition for the show by their friends.

Fia said: “Before we went on stage, we were with Ant and Dec and I think they were trying to calm us down.

"They were so nice to us. The judge we wanted to impress the most was Simon Cowell.

"I was scared because there were a lot of buzzers going on before our act, and we were worried they might hate us and say we’re not good enough.

"But, then we came on stage and the reaction was crazy.”

She added: "There were so many X buzzers before us and we thought 'Wow they've set a high standard' and Simon Cowell came across as really scary to us.

"I was scared he would hate us or the song or the way we sang but he gave us 3,500 yeses which was so unexpected. We were so surprised."

Simon praised the pair saying: "This is the best thing you could possibly do under the circumstances to show you two are completely strong and united."

David Walliams said their audition was "absolutely terrific while Amanda Holden said: "It is wonderful to see you up there with your courage and strength."

Alesha said their performance was "incredible" and said: "Music is the best therapy and I can see that you two are starting this new journey together."

The pair are now hoping to make it through to the live semi-finals - and ultimately to perform before the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

Fia said: “It would be a dream come true. We feel really grateful to be in this stage of the competition and we are looking forward to continuing our journey and hope the audience likes us, so hopefully we will make a better future for ourselves.”
